Wouldn't you know it!?

I was baking a birthday cake tonight for my sister in law and my father in law and wouldn't you know it...I dropped the darn thing on the counter and it broke. There is no time to bake another one. Where are my Betty Crocker skills now? I have tried the gluing with icing, but it looks terrible. The icing won't stick to the cake. Gah! Oh well, it will still taste good even if it looks ugly, I just hate showing up with undesirable goods.

It will make the birthday that much more memorable!

I baked a cake for my mom once and it fell apart, so I squeezed together what I could and iced it! We put candles in a cake that looked like a dog got at it first. That was one to remember, I even have a picture!

If it tastes yummy - I'd say it's desirable goods!

It REALLY is the thought that counts and you gave them something to laugh about and remember every birthday for years to come!

A similar thing happened to my mum and sister when they were making my birthday this year. Apparently it looked a little too much like someone threw up on the plate to serve...

Maybe if you crumbled it in a bowl, threw whip cream on top and some chocolate shavings, it would look like you meant to do it. That's how all great recipes are birthed, someone goofed up.
