What's that I hear?

Silence. No fighting. Something must be wrong. Nope, just Dora saving the day.
I finally had a full cup of good coffee today that DIDN'T have ground beef in it-don't ask- and that has made all the difference in my mood today. Coffee and Dora I love thee.

When using spray glue, make certain that the nozzle is pointed AWAY from you

UG. I have a headache from the fumes, and I am sure the house is gonna blow up anytime now. Phew. Steve is not going to be impressed with the smell in here. Too bad, this is crunch time. Only a few days left until my sale. (Saturday is my big day in case you care).
Do chips count as a veggie? Cause that's what we are eating for supper tonight. Crafts take priority.

I have found a new pantry favorite that saves time and tastes delicious. Really. It does. Far batter than greasy ol' Hamburger Helper, this new gem is tastier and richer. It doesn't cost a whole lot either. Nice. Love it.

Those mini toilets are a great invention, but....

We ventured out to the mall yesterday to see some new sights and get out of the house basically. I was astounded to see such wonderful Christmas programs going on during the season. Not only do you get the boring old stand in line for Santa stuff, but they have other things for you to do throughout the mall with your children.
There is one little tucked away nook that everyone kept walking by because they thought you had to pay for it, but it was FREE. It was a gingerbread cookie decorating retreat. The kids had so much fun. They put on kid sized aprons and actually did not get that messy. They did lick everything though. There was even a story time after the cookie decorating, but we missed it somehow. Most kids came and went while we were there, but my kids just sat and sat and sat.
I now have a birthday idea for Emma.
Throughout our stay at the mall (by the way, this one was a different mall from the one where we saw Santa the other day). we saw a sign that told us to come and bring our kids out in their pj's on Friday night for story time with Mrs. Clause. What fun!!! AND THEY WILL GET A GOODIE BAG!!!! Well, we all know that is the most fun part for me. Coupons and surprises!
Oh and let us not forget about the bathrooms.
Some genius has invented the 'parent' bathrooms, complete with two toilets. One big and one small. Well, this is a fabulous idea and it gets the kids to actually do their business in public, but when they have to do a running comentary about's not so great.
Emma and I went in and she started chattering away. "Hey Mummy! You are peeing and I am peeing" and of course it is at the loudest volume EVER.
"Yes Emma that is what we do in the bathroom."
"Mummy, look. You have toilet paper and I have toilet paper...are you still peeing?"
"Yes Emma. Why don't you tell me what colour the door is?"
Most of my responses were over top of hers so that no one else could hear her. But this last one I am sure they all got a good listen to.
"Mummy? Are you wearing polka dot panties?"

Can it be true?

Upon perusal of our weekly flyers, I came upon this. A doggie stroller.

Where did the weekend go?

Sunday already. Took the kids out to get their second succession of flu shots yesterday. It went surprisingly well, Thank Heavens! We would have gone down to the Santa Clause parade, but there was NO WAY I was trekking downtown in all that mayhem.
Went instead to Market Mall where we knew Santa would be coming. There is a new set up at the mall so that you don't have to wait in long lines for photos, you get to play in a FABULOUS area with toys and movies and crayons etc. When you first get there, you register with a nice lady and when your time comes she calls your name in the play area through a microphone.
The kids did very well. Oliver was scared to death of Santa, but he did take a candy cane of course-we will have to work on the "taking candy from strangers part". Emma sat right up on his lap and chatted with him. She even said thank you when he gave her a candy cane and gave him a big hug.
I guess we are off and running for the day.

The kids are running wild, but I really don't care

We may make it over to our little mall across the street to see Santa today if the kids behave themselves. So far I don't know if that will happen. I am pretty disfunctional today. The wind was howling all night rattling our windows. It was so noisy. Anyways, maybe I can convince someone to take me out for some McD's for lunch.....

There was much gagging and my jaws hurt like Hell!

Well, I survived. After many re-booked appointments, I finally made it in to the dentist today to have my extraction and a filling-plus cleaning. I was shaking as I entered the building, but I had my Christmas cards with me to fill out while I waited in the waiting area to take my mind off the up and coming terror before me.
The cleaning went quite well and the girl that did it was great. She was chatty and fun. She calmed me a bit too...until she found an extra cavity in another one of my wisdom teeth. (remember I was already having one pulled today?) Well, they decided to pull that one too. Lovely.
Maybe next time I will ask for a sedative first.
The needles were manageable .... there were so many. Thankfully this time my whole face did not freeze like in past experiences, but the back of my throat froze. That is something I never want to feel again. I had to sit up in the middle of everything and try to catch my breath. I gagged all over the place and someone ran to get a bucket, another person got me a cool cloth and yet another person gave me some juice. I was also handed tissues and my back was rubbed by some loving soul. Bless them.
We continue on and things were fine again until the gauze had to be put in. Ack. I heard somewhere that smiling reduces the gag reflex, so all the way down the elevator I smiled a goofy smile. As soon as I was in the car, I yanked out that gauze. Phew.
I am now at home wondering what is safe to eat-maybe I should just stay away from food for a few days.

Yahoo is screwing up for some reason and I can not send emails. I can receive them, but not send them. So if you are thinking that I am ignoring you...I am not.
I will be using gmail for now until I get everything back to normal.

Oh Happy Day

Oliver has changed yet again. He has hit a new level. We no longer have to sit and rock with him for hours and hours-even in the afternoons! He will go to bed willingly! Hurray. This is huge here. My afternoons have just gotten a little easier. I love it when the kids make it to the next step.
Well, back to the fudge making this afternoon.....

Please stop touching the tree...please stop touching the tree...please stop touching the tree

This is going to be a regular chant in our household for the next several weeks.
The tree is up and sparkling in it's brilliance this morning. We are trying to distract the kids with anything other than the tree. It will happen though, they will get into it eventually.
We are settling in nicely to our place.
I am still having a tough time finding everything. A lot of things are unpacked, but the odd things are still packed and of course I need them every so often and can not find them.
I have found that the Garden Market IGA is less expensive than it used to be-and it is right down the street from us. Very nice.
There is a giant Nativity in our local mini mall, I find this extremely shocking and exciting at the same time. The kids really enjoy watching the fake camel bobbing it's head up and down and the waterfall pouring water in the scene.

Happy Birthday Steve!!! Love you!!!

My neighbor checks her mailbox 600 times a day. We all know that I do this as well. When she checks it, I hear her and I go and check mine because I think our postman has come. It is a funny vicious circle.
Back and forth we go all day checking and re-checking. I need to find something else to obsess over.
Thank you Alexander Fleming for inventing Penicilin. That's all I have to say.

Well, how many nights has it been now that I have woken up all night long and finally come to sleep on the couch around three am. Last night I came down at one and to my surprise had a little follower. Emma. She scared the bejeebers out of me. "Look Mummy, I am awake!" she said. Great. I got her settled back into bed and told her it was not time to get up yet and that I was just getting a drink...which was partially true-I was making tea.
My throat has been on FIRE for the last few days and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. What a nuisance. I am so annoyed. The last thing I want to do is make another trip out to the doctor, we all know I am there enough with Oliver. Oh and by the way he gets new ear tubes in on December 8th. Hopefully they stay put longer this time.
My washer is fixed. THANK YOU GRANDPA!!!!!!!!! Now all we need is the ductwork for the dryer and we are good to go-although I can manage longer without a dryer than a washer.

Does anyone remember that Chloraseptic spray that used to numb your throat, tongue, and mouth when you sprayed it in there? Well, I found these new Chloraseptic losenges and they actually work without all the numbing. Much better. Pray hard that the kids don't get this bug, it would be so harsh on them. I prayed when Emma and I were barfing that it would skip over Steve and Oliver and someone listened. Thankfully.

Doing laundry at Grammy's

Here I sit waiting on laundry while the kids are entertained. The machine won't be fixed until later because Grandpa had to work...poor man works sooooo much. Maybe he can retire soon. Wouldn't that be nice.
I had some GREAT mail today.
A welcome letter to our new house from my wonderful brother and family. (Family of Five who comments sometimes)
They sent us gift certificates for McDonalds!!!!!! Have I mentioned that we have one right accross the street from our new place? Oh happy day!!! Thanks guys-you made my day.

Might as well...

Seeing as my Christmas decorations are so conveniently right at my fingertips waiting to be unpacked, I might as well decorate now. Why not? The kids are bugging me, asking when Santa is coming. Halloween is over. All the leaves are off the trees. Snow is crunching under our feet. All signs point to yes. I thought Christmas would never come this year, but here it is, right at our feet rapidly approaching. I love it.

Thursday already?

Wow! We have been here almost a week already. Things are slowly coming into order. Except one huge washing machine was broken in the move. Thank heavens I had enough brains to do all my laundry before we moved. I am getting low on clothes now though and may have to make a trip over to Grammy's house soon. I believe Grandpa is coming tomorrow to help try to fix the machine, and hopefully it is fixable. Until then, I have a mountain growing in the corner of our bedroom.
Funny, I have never actually wanted to do laundry so badly before.

Still not up and running yet

I am at the library for a minute. The computer at our house is having troubles. I have called in the fixers, but it may take 5-10 business days to work things out!!!! I am sorry to all who read my blog and are getting bored with the lack of blogging.
Halloween was fun. We went out with friends trick or treating. Emma only lasted a VERY short while and she was in the wagon. She wanted to take her costume off early in the night. Poor girl had been in it all day. We had her partying hard from morning until night. Oliver had was so great, he would walk up to the doors and say "I got my yellow bag" and hold his treat bag open for people to hand in the candy. Keep in mind he looks about the size of a one year old so people were a little astounded that this little guy was walking and talking. It was fabulous.
Today Grammy has the kidlets so I could run some errands (keys cut, chocolate buying etc).
I managed to squeeze in coffee with a friend too and it was glorious.
I love finding people who are 'interesting' like me. Thanks Deb for the break, I really enjoyed it.

I am off now to check in to the other blogs I have been missing. Sorry for the lack of blogging. I hope to be up and running VERY soon. Miss you all!!!!
