On the lookout

We all know Oliver is a small little guy. This means he needs small little panties-I mean terribly small panties errrr underwear. I hold in my hand a size two and apparently they do not make any smaller sizes. We all know how sizing works and that different brands fit differently in the same size, so.... if anyone can find a small itty bitty pair of (well pairs of) panties- uh underwear for Oliver please do help. I have an Outline brand which I think comes from Zellers.
He can not keep going naked and gets so mad when these underpants fall down. Is it wrong to put him in Emma's panties? They fit smaller.

Gone Shopping....

Be back soon

Just found some pics from Christmas that I forgot about....

This is my dad. No he is not drunk, he is just tired. We were at Steve's parent's house for dinner and he just pulled up a piece of carpet and fell asleep. I wish I had the ability to just fall asleep anywhere like that. Posted by Picasa

And now the clean up...

I am slowly starting the clean-up after the explosion of the holidays. We have filled umpteen number of trash bags already. One funny thing that I noticed as I was cleaning up was the cautionary notice on a box from a LOVELY new cooking pan I received.

It reads: " CAUTION For safety, please keep birds out of the kitchen. Birds' respiratory systems are sensitive to many kinds of household fumes, including the fumes from extremely overheated non-stick pans."

How the heck did they ever figure that out? And, what does it do to our respiratory systems?

Gluttony, thy name is a sin

Our Christmas Day was wonderful. We spent some time with my Dad and Stepmom at Steve's parent's house. There was lots to eat and we all just enjoyed ourselves. Emma slept most of the time, as she was still a bit under the weather, but she was fine once she woke up and started opening gifts.
I indulged a little too much on food while we were there and I will get to that. By the time it was ready for us to leave I was feeling funky. My guts were all bloated and my belly was NOT feeling so great.
I made it home safely, got the kids in bed, got into bed myself and then the wrath of my sin began.
I barfed every ten minutes from 9pm until 8am boxing day morning. It was so bad that I had to call Steve's mom to come and get me and take me to the mini hospital just South of us here. Steve had to help dress me and half carry me to the car. Very humbling.
I barfed a few more times before the doctor even saw me. Yuck. I hate being out in public when you are sick like that.
They rehyrdated me with an IV and praise God I am still sore and feeling the after affects, but I am no longer barfing.
The doc said it could have been the custard (don't roll your eyes here. I don't think about my lactose intollerance a lot because at home we use lactose free milk and cook with it, so I just never thought of the milk in the custard before then) or he said it could have been a flu. Usually the flu gives a bit more warning doesn't it?
No matter... whatever it was, it was mean. But I am thankfully on the mend now. Phew.

They should call them 'Busydays' not Holidays

Does anyone really get a rest at this time of year? My sink is overflowing and my company will be here in a little while. My turkey needs to be stripped and frozen so I can deal with it later to make soup or stew, Emma is still not feeling well, Oliver is up and about already, we need to start getting ready for church, I have to remember my brunch item........
I don't really care about my dishes- they can rot there all week. I am sure my company with just look at them and think "oh the poor dear is just trying to run a good household and has been so busy" they won't think I am a slob. Of course they won't think that.
My darling husband got the yummiest FLANNEL pj's for me, in fact he got me two sets of them. They actually fit too. I have been wearing maternity pajamas for the last four or five years, yes I am pathetic. I just had not really lost every ounce until the last few months. So finally I have new nightwear. MMMM.
My living room looks like a bomb went off in it. I would take a picture, but um no this is gross in here. At least there are no food plates out here rotting away.
Well, I am off to try to clean up before people come over today. Maybe they will never have to know of the mess.
Blessing to you all.

Tuckered Out

Emma made it through all the gifts, but she is still under the weather. She crashed at 10:00am. Didn't even make it to turkey. She has been down for two hours.....I hope she is okay.
I didn't sleep last night-too excited about today. The kids were great. Oliver opened one gift and was done. He wants to play with Emma's toys now, not his own. Oh well, that's the way it always is at our house.
Our turkey dinner is eaten and we are all stuffed and drowsy. (Been up since Emma came in at four this morning)
Somebody please call me and remind me to take the cookies to church tonight! I have a sinking feeling that I am going to forget them. Posted by Picasa

Happy Christmas Eve Eve

It feels like I am forgetting something drastically important this year because I have most everything done. It is a wonderful feeling to not be frazzled and rushing right now scrambling out to get things. Thank heavens for my obsessive compusilve disorder..I mean organized nature.
I am so thankful that we have gifts to wrap this year. I make it a point to not make it obscene so the kids still appreciate what we do for them and don't get greedy. I got the kids to pack up the majority of their old toys and took some to donate and some over to Grammy's house. Emma was thrilled that other kids were going to get to play with her toys. What an idea!

We all have so much to be grateful for this time of year. Whether it's the fact that you have a warm bed every night or a great cup of coffee in the morning- we have so much.

Hope you all get your errands and wrapping done in time. Don't arrive on Christmas day haggard and exhausted. Love to you all! (I may not check in for a few days)

Well, I was wrong

The fever is back. Oh well. We will get to the bottom of this. I am sure I have some freezie to tempt her with today, hopefully that will help.

High fever. Emma is down.

You still have time to listen.
I won something.

*Update: I won a Tim Horton's $50 gift certificate for my Mother in Law and myself plus I am entered into the draw for a big Tim Horton's prize at the end of the week. Yay!

Where is Waldo?

I miraculously found a "Where's Waldo" book this morning. It has been my sanity saver so far. I have been able to get a little bit of laundry done and the dishwasher unloaded and partially re-loaded...Oh ya and I moved a little bit of furniture. My next plans are to clean the bathrooms and do more laundry, check the mail a hundred more times, get Emma into some clothes, figure out my menu for the rest of the month, and remember to buy pull-ups somewhere along the way.
I don't know what Oliver ate yesterday, but he smells like meat today and has lots of gas.
Better get back to my slaving.

I am getting a little more relaxed, can you tell? I let them decorate cookies ALL by themselves without hovering over them. They had so much fun and didn't even get that messy. Oliver was funny-every time he got frosting on his fingers he would ask for a cloth. Don't know where he got that from. Posted by Picasa

Yup, these are actually for real

I found this site today while randomly visiting another site that I frequent. I was snickering to myself at most of the products, but the rocking wheel chair was what really got me.

She wrapped it and tagged it all by herself!!!!

My baby is all grown up. If you enlarge the picture, you can see that she really did get all the letters in-the 'A' just overlaps onto the tree area. Emma was a little sad about running out of room, but she got over it. Her one 'D' looks like an 'O' but don't tell her that. She is soooo proud of herself. She almost spilled the beans as to what is inside the paper. I am teaching her about gifts and secrets. Posted by Picasa

Happy Christmas to me

New glasses to me from Steve's extended health benefits. Ahhhh so nice to have coverage for a change. Posted by Picasa

We had a great time last night seeing the train. They are now on their way to if you want to check up on when they are coming, do it. You will not be disappointed.
They had musical guests Amanda Stott and The Moffats singing together doing Christmas songs. The crowd was getting right into it. The kids LOVED the show, Emma is still talking about it.
"Mummy that was a great show!"
The camera died right as we got there, so I didn't get pics. Oh well. Live and learn. We need extra batteries.

It's funny how we all get the urge at the same time

Well, not so funny when I can not run up the stairs holding a little body in my hand (and they can't hold in their movements). Don't worry, I did not take pics this time. They would not have shown up anyways.
I was in the bathroom helping Emma go poo-well watching her and waiting so I could clean her butt off. I all of a sudden heard grunting behind me. It didn't register at first. Then I turned around and saw a log and a blob that Oliver had stepped in. Did I not tell you it was going to be a good day?
It was smeared all down his leg and I have no idea where all he tracked it because it MATCHES THE CARPET EXACTLY. I got what I could and cleaned where I could make out a wet mark. Ugh. The funny thing was that he did not pee on the carpet when he pooped. He asked to go to the toilet as soon as Emma was off. I guess I need to work on the poop part with him.

It's 9:30am and I am eating a Kimchi bowl

This is my lunch time already, I have a feeling the day will be long.
We have already listened to music and had our dancing time, done crafts, had breakfast and snack. The kids are even dressed. Am I at hyper speed today or is something wrong here?
Tonight we are going to see the CP Rail Christmas Train. Can't wait..literally. That is not until 6pm though. Oh crap the kids are getting into the googly eyes.

I have found my new love

This is something like I have never seen before. It makes thick hair skinny and manageable.
It also helps hair to dry faster, so it won't take AN HOUR to blow your hair dry. Unbelieveable stuff. This Super Skinny Serum also helps to straighten hair. How great is that? Okay, okay I know I am sounding like an infomercial, but this stuff is gooooood.

A date...

Yup. I did it. She is coming to my house. Remember the lady I told you about, the one I met at the church thing a while back. Well, we had tea last week at her house. It was great to get out and socialize. Now I have invited her over for coffee and treats. (Don't worry Leslie I tidied up first!) I wonder if she will like my new hair...

Of course he made it-you thought he wouldn't?

The surgery was lightning fast, it was after surgery that took so much time. We had to wait and wait just to be sure Oliver was not going to be sick. He wasn't. He is a bit sucky now, and keeps gagging and rubbing his tongue like he has a hair on it or something. He was such a good boy throughout all the waiting and prodding and jostling about that they had to do to him.
I am ever so thankful that I had a wonderful partner to wait with me and keep my mind off of things. Thank You also to Grammy for taking care of Emma while we were at the hospital all morning. That was a big help having her taken care of.
Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes!

Who is that beautiful girl? And look, she is wearing pink!

Well, on to bigger and better

Christmas cards are done. If I have not sent you a card this year it's because I hate you. No really, I didn't have everyone's address...including one of my brothers. Oh well.
Gifts are bought-some even sent out. Decorations are up. Baking is at good rythm. Now to enjoy the season. I have started to plan for Emma's birthday (January). Oliver's surgery is tomorrow. He gets new tubes in his ears. Everything will be fine, just fine. Keeping busy to me means I don't have to think about anything. OCD much. Maybe I could start on invites for Emma's party....or or anyways.
Today I will be running around refilling Oliver's meds, grabbing formula (yes he is still on it he is small remember) and doing other stuff before the big operation. Not that I am nervous or anything, because I am not. I am totally fine. Just fine. I said I AM FINE. Thanks though for asking.

This kept me busy for a while today.

Been a bit busy today in my alter universe. The kids are actually behaving so I am taking advantage of it. With the sale being done, it is amazing what I am freed up to do. I wonder who is gonna get this pie? Emma has her final recital today at dance/music class. She was a little distracted with all the family there so she uh didn't really perform. She certainly marches to the beat of her own drum. Posted by Picasa

Is that a cat being slammed in the door or...?

We sat beside the funniest man today. He was selling jams and jellies. There was a lady behind us accross the gym with balloon animals-yes folks it takes all kinds, but that is not the kicker of the day. I am getting to the juicy bits. The ballon animal lady kept popping them and scaring the bajoobles right out of me, PLUS she also played the violin. Now, I don't play the violin, but I like listening to a WELL played one. She played off and on alllllll afternoon. The hours d-r-a-g-g-e-d on with her playing. Damn Leslie for wishing for Christmas music in the first place.
We saw hoards of the ghastly Christmas sweaters that people pull out this time of year. Sorry if I have offended you uh no wait I am not. You should not have those sweaters unless you are and OLD lady and cute. There was one woman who got VERY friendly with the violin lady, now she had a sweater. Her sweater was one of a kind-straight from the seventies-vintage stuff. Around 3:30pm the sweater lady started singing with the balloon violin lady. Heaven help us all. The man beside me looked over at the duo rather disturbed and confused. His brow all wrinkled in disgust. Poor guy. I overheard him at one point say to his wife "Ah jeez it sounds like a cat is being slammed in a door."
All in all it was not a bad day. I did not sell everything, but I am okay with that. I actually sold more than I thought. Nobody actually did all that super. There were only a handful of people who came through.
If you are observant enough to notice, I brushed my hair today AND straightened it. It took me an hour.
Well, I am off to gorge myself on some fudge...... Posted by Picasa

Craft and bake sale tomorrow (Saturday)

I am as ready as I will ever be. Let's hope it all goes well.

Ladies night last night...woo hoo

I had to leave early, but it was a good night anyways. We covered all the topics, you know- waxing bikinis, bra stuff and lots of other good girly topics.
This morning while putting my bra on I could not help but think of the other girls. You see, I was the ONLY one out of six of us who put it on correctly. Everyone else puts it on backwards and slides it around to the front. This to me would be so uncomfortable. Just put it on normally, arms through the straps and the hook it up at the back. It is not rocket science.
Now that you are all picturing us putting on our bras....
I have the worst gas.
Couldn't wait to get home last night so I could let it all out. Phew.

A breath of fresh air....

I have finally connected with a lady whom I have been meeting with on a weekly basis at a church group. We have always greeted each other pleasantly etc, but the last two weeks I have been there, we have had decent conversations.
I love that. There is something about a great heart to heart chat that makes your day brighter. Today we even took it to the next level....she gave me her number. Ooooo.
I will keep you all posted as to how things progress, because I know you are SO interested in my personal life.
